The Slovenian government is discussing a bill which will stipulate mandatory use of vignettes for vehicles with the permissible maximum weight of 3,500 kg (the current first and second toll-rate category) on motorways and expressways in the Republic of Slovenia as of 1 July 2008. The toll-collection system with vignettes is being introduced with the aim of improving traffic flow and reducing emissions to the environment.
With the introduction of the toll-collection system with vignettes in the second half of 2008, only half-yearly vignettes will be put on sale, while purchase of yearly vignettes for 2009 will be possible not later than by the beginning of December 2008.
Vignettes are expected to be put on sale in the following locations: at filling stations in Slovenia and the neighboring countries and in the branch offices of the national and foreign automobile clubs. All users will be timely informed about those and other possible sale outlets.
Type of vignette and prices:
yearly vignette for vehicles with the permissible maximum weight of 3,500 kg*: 55 EUR
half-yearly vignette for with the permissible maximum weigh to 3,500 kg**: 35 EUR
yearly vignette for motorcycles*: 27,50 EUR
half-yearly vignette for motorcycles: 17,50 EUR
* Yearly vignette for the current year will be valid from 1 December of the previous year to 31 January of the next year (total of 14 months).
** Half-yearly will be valid for six months following the day of its purchase.
Using motorways and expressways without a valid and properly displayed vignette in a vehicle will be considered a violation of the law and will be sanctioned with a fine between 300 and 800 EUR.

Misschien ben ik dom, maar er staat toch": The Slovenian government is discussing a bill…blablabla…..Volgens mij betekend dat hier in Nl. dat het een voorstel is, en dat het er nog niet zeker is.
Overigens kan ik mij de vraag van Wil zeer goed voorstellen, want er bestaat nl. een levendige handel in “gebruikte”zwitserse vignetten……
Precies
Het mag toch wel >>wat<< kosten.
Het hoort er nu eenmaal bij, met z'n miljoenen denderen we dagelijks door tunnels, over snel/wegen enz.
Maar toch zou het handig zijn als we nu eens met elkaar afspraken gingen maken over b.v een Euro-vignet.
Koop z'n vignet voor een jaar, en verder geen geleuter meer.

Vignet per 1 juli
Voor de snelwegen in Slovenië is per 1 juli 2008 een vignet verplicht. Het vignet vervangt het huidige tolsysteem. Automobilisten kunnen kiezen uit een jaarlijks of halfjaarlijks vignet van 55 euro en resp. 35 euro. Motorrijders kopen een jaarvignet van 27,50 euro.
